How do I serve a Subpoena for Personal Appearance to a Peace Officer, State, County or City Employee?
To serve a PEACE OFFICER OR OTHER CALIFORNIA STATE, COUNTY OR CITY EMPLOYEE
Service on a Peace Officer or other State, County or City employee testifying in his/her capacity may be served by delivering a copy and the
witness fee to the person personally or by delivering 2 copies and the witness fee to his/her immediate supervisor or agent designated by that immediate supervisor to receive the service. (GC 680978.1 - 68097.5)
When serving a member of the California Highway Patrol, service upon his immediate supervisor must be made at least
5 working days prior to the hearing. This statute may have been adopted by other agencies, so please check with your local agency. (GC 68097.3)
